The perfect blend of jazz & downtempo rhythms: Christophe Goze sets the bar for all artists in this genre with his latest release “Turning Inside”. If you like your music jazzed, smooth and chilled, this CD is a must! Simply put, this is the downtempo album for jazz lovers!

The beauty of this CD is that it catches you from the start. From the opening track “Breathing” to the last “Turning Inside” delivers solid infectious grooves that may actually prevent you from ever hitting the eject button.

What sets this CD apart from others would have to be Christophe’s musicianship. The passionate guitar work on “Close To You” and the title track “Turning Inside” speaks volumes for Christophe’s musical abilities which he began crafting at a young age. Christophe’s leadership in the world music, future jazz and down tempo arena is magnified throughout this CD.

With the ability to make your head nod on tracks such as “Ive Got You” and “Ce Que Tu Veuk” Christophe shows just a bit of his range. Teasing us it seems with his great versatility of styles. Christophe’s musical influences, cultural background adds depth and richness which throughout the CD and in the especially moving track “Suki Deuka” which closes out this brilliant CD.

I first heard of Christophe just about two years ago when I heard the title track off his “Sirocco” album and “Ja vidi” from the same album. I was impressed and respectfully placed him in that nebulous “World” music category. (Be sure to check out his earlier releases). Now with “Turning Inside” Christophe clearly shows that he can be successful in whatever musical direction his heart leads him. Which means more great music for all of us!

Biography:

With 8 albums released, tracks on over 300 compilations that have sold over 1.5 million copies and a nomination for best TV advert music, Christophe Goze has become a leading downtempo, future world and ambient Jazz musician whose name is respected as widely as the geographical influences from which he hones his craft. French Catalan born and raised in Paris, he was fed from a young age on a diet of music, and engulfed by his father’s own passion for the art of music. Coming from a family of professional classical musicians - his father a music teacher as well as his grandfather - Christophe had no other choice but to start his musical education at an early age, being taught piano by his father at the age of 4, and at 9 the guitar. So innate was his musical ability!

Christophe’s Spanish connection is integral to his music and important to his own creativity. He has always felt extremely close to Spanish music, which from the very start has influenced the way he plays guitar. This is particularly evident on his album Show Me the Way.

Regarding himself foremost as an acoustic guitarist, Christophe acknowledges his influences as David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Pat Metheny, Al Di Meola and various blues guitarists.

To form a picture of Christophe Goze’s colourful background and his introduction into the world of professional music... He began by entering the CIM, a prestigious jazz music school in Paris. Here Christophe studied Guitar and Harmony full time for 2 years. He also started to do his first session work as a guitarist. Within a year he was signed to Polydor France by A&R Philippe Cohen Solal, the man now behind Gotan Project. This was the start of a process that would see him evolve into an artist respected worldwide.
